Spiced Walnuts

3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar packed
1/2 cup cream sherry (sometimes I use dry)
1/4 cup honey
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
dash of salt
3cups walnut halves
Recipe
Mix all ingredients except nuts in a large saucepan.
Stir over low heat to disolve sugars. Cook to soft ball stage. (242 degrees on candy thermomneter)
Remove from heat, add walnuts.
Gently stir and fold walnuts till thick and creamy. Turn out on foil.
Separate walnut pieces and when completely cool, store in tins or glass containers.
These are so good. Just make sure to fold and stir nuts till they have a real thick and creamy color to them before you turn on onto the foil, so they won't be sticky gooey
