Buttermilk Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup Crisco
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar, firmly, packed
2 eggs
1-1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 6-oz package semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
Recipe
Cream together Crisco and both sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Blend in vanilla.
Sift together flour and baking soda. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture, mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
Drop by tsp. about 2 inches apart greased baking sheets. Bake in 350� oven for 15 minutes. Cool on cookie rack.
