    Chocolate Drizzled Cherry Bars

    2 cups all-purpose flour
    2 cups quick-cooking oats
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1 1/4 cup margarine, softened

    Filling:
    21-ounce can cherry pie filling
    1 teaspoon almond extract

    Glaze:
    1/2 cup chocolate chips
    1 tablespoon shortening

    Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, sugar and margarine with an electric mixer. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture is crumbly, about 1-2 minutes.

    Reserve 1 1/2 cups crumb mixture. Press remaining mixture into the bottom of a 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake 15-20 minutes until edges are very lightly browned.

    Meanwhile, stir together pie filling and almond extract. Spread filling over hot crust.

    Sprinkle reserved crumbs over the cherries. Continue baking for 27-32 minutes or until lightly browned.

    In a 1-quart saucepan, melt chocolate chips and shortening over low heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth, 2-3 minutes. Drizzle glaze over baked crumb topping. Cool pan completely. Cut into bars Makes 36.
