    Source of Recipe

    Internet

    List of Ingredients

    2/3 cup butter, softened
    1 cup granulated sugar
    2 eggs
    1 cup chocolate-flavored instant
    malted-milk powder
    ½ cup milk
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2½ cups all-purpose flour
2 cups malted-milk balls, coarsely chopped
Quick Fudge Frosting (see recipe below)
    Pearl sugar
Miniature milk-chocolate kisses or malted-milk balls

    Recipe

Line a 15x10x1-inch baking pan with foil; lightly grease foil and set aside. In a large mixing bowl beat butter and granulated sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until combined. Add eggs, malted-milk powder, milk, baking powder, and vanilla. Beat for 1 minute more on medium speed (mixture will look slightly curdled).
With mixer on low speed, gradually add flour to the sugar mixture, beating just until combined. Fold in the chopped malted-milk balls. Spread batter in the prepared pan.
Bake in a 325° oven about 30 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack.
For easier cutting, chill bars in pan for 30 minutes. Use foil to remove bars from pan and place on cutting surface. Invert bars. Carefully peel off foil. Invert again. Cut with a 2- to 2½-inch scalloped cookie cutter (there will be leftover scraps). Or, cut into rectangular bars. Frost with Quick Fudge Frosting. Sprinkle with pearl sugar and garnish with milk chocolate kisses. Makes 18 scalloped cutouts or 40 rectangular bars.

Quick Fudge Frosting: In a medium mixing bowl combine 4 cups sifted powdered sugar, ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder, and 3 tablespoons chocolate-flavored instant malted-milk powder. Add 1/3 cup softened butter, 1/3 cup boiling water, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed until combined. Beat 1 minute on medium speed. Cool 20 to 30 minutes or until spreadable.
