Cinnamon Sugar Cookies

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 cup Blue Bonnet® Regular Stick margarine, (1 stick)
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 package (10 ounces) cinnamon chips (cinnamon-flavor candy morsels)
Heat oven to 400F. Grease cookie sheets. In small bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
In large bowl, beat Blue Bonnet and shortening with electric mixer until creamy. Add 1-1/3 cups sugar; beat well. Add eggs; beat well. Add combined flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt; beat well.
Roll dough into 1-1/4-inch balls; roll each ball in cinnamon-sugar to coat. Place 3 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes until bottoms are barely golden. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; transfer to wire racks. Cool completely.
Yield: about 4 dozen cookies
