    Cranberry Filling (below)
    ¾ cup packed brown sugar
    ½ cup butter or margarine, softened
    1 ½ cups quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
    1 cup all-purpose or whole-wheat flour
    ¼ tsp. salt

    Cranberry Filling
    ½ cup sugar
    ¼ cup orange juice
    ¼ cup water
    2 cups fresh cranberries
    1 Tbsp. grated orange peel
    ½ tsp. ground cinnamon

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 400F. Prepare cranberry filling; mix sugar, orange juice, and water in 1 ½-quart saucepan. Heat to boiling. Stir in cranberries, orange peel, and cinnamon. Cook over medium heat about 10 minutes, stir occasionally, until thickened; cool. Prepare bars; mix brown sugar and butter in medium bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients until crumbly. Press half of the crumbly mixtures in ungreased rectangular pan, 13 x 9 x 2 inches. Spread with filling. Top with remaining crumbly mixture; press lightly. Bake about 20 minutes or until light brown. For bars, cut into 8 rows by 6 rows while warm.
