List of Ingredients




1-3/4 cups sugar
3/4 cup lard
3 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup cream
1 teaspoon soda, dissolved in 1 tablespoon hot water
3/4 cup buttermilk
5 cups flour, approx.
3 teaspoons baking powder


Recipe



Cream together in large bowl the sugar and lard, add eggs, salt and vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder in bowl, set aside. Combine cream and buttermilk with soda and water; add alternately with flour mixture. Roll out and cut with cookie cutter and place on greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle cookies with sugar before baking. Bake about 8 mintues in 375°F oven.
