1/3 cup plus 1/2 cup butter, divided
6 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
20 graham crackers, crushed
1 cup coconut
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 tablespoons milk
1 cup powdered sugar
6 Hershey bars
Blend 1/3 cup butter, cocoa, sugar and egg together; heat until mixture thickens. (We did this in the microwave.) Add crushed crackers (we counted each square as one cracker), coconut, nuts and vanilla. Spread mixture in an 8-by-8-inch greased pan. Chill until hard.
Mix 1/2 cup butter, milk and powdered sugar; beat well with mixer. Spread on hardened base and chill again.
Melt Hershey bars and spread over chilled second layer. Put in refrigerator for a few minutes; remove and mark 1-inch squares in chocolate. (This is important. Once chocolate hardens, it can't be cut evenly.) Return to refrigerator and chill until hardened.
