    5 oz. butter
    1/3 cup sugar
    2 oz. sweet almonds (unblanched)
    1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
    1 tsp. vanilla

    Yields:4 dozen.
    Cream together butter and sugar. Finely grind almonds and mix them with butter. Gradually add sifted flour, blend and stir in 1 tsp. vanilla. Knead with hands for a few minutes until smooth. Shape into tin rolls about 1 1.2 inches long, turn into crescent shape, and put on unbuttered cookie sheet. Bake at 350F. degrees until sandy colored. (Not brown). Keep cookies small and well spaced. They will spread during baking. They should come out crumbly and melt in your mouth.
