Blackberry Chocolate Drops

2 3/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup cornflakes
1 cup fresh blackberries
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
Frosting
1 (1-ounce) square unsweetened chocolate
1 tablespoon butter
3 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
Recipe
For cookies, sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add cornflakes and blackberries.
In large bowl, beat shortening, sugar and eggs. Add sour cream, vanilla and chocolate. Blend in dry ingredients. Chill for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until done. Cool on a wire rack.
For frosting, melt chocolate and butter. Add milk and confectioners’ sugar. Blend well. (Add more milk or confectioners’ sugar, if necessary.) Frost cookies.
Serving quantity: Makes 2 dozen.
