Cake Mix Pecan Pie Bars

Crust
1 (18 1/4-ounce) package yellow cake mix, divided
1 egg
1/2 cup butter, melted

Filling
1 1/2 cups dark corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans



Recipe



Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease bottom and sides of 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

Reserve 2/3 cup cake mix. For crust, combine remaining cake mix, egg and butter. Mix. Press into prepared pan. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

For filling, combine corn syrup, vanilla, eggs and brown sugar. Pour over crust. Sprinkle pecans on top. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until filling is set. Cool.

Serving quantity: Makes 2 dozen.
