List of Ingredients
1 lb. boneless beef sirloin steak,
cut 1-inch thick
1/2 of a 12-oz. beer (3/4 C.)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 T. cooking oil
1 T. snipped fresh oregano,
(or 1 tsp. dried oregano, crushed)
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
2 medium green or red peppers
8 oz. whole fresh mushrooms
Recipe
Cut steak into 1-in. cubes. Place in a plastic bag set into a bowl. For marinade, stir together beer, chopped onion, cooking oil, fresh or dried oregano, salt, and garlic powder. Pour over meat. Close bag. Marinate in the refrigerator for 6 to 24 hours, turning occasionally. When ready to cook kabobs, cut peppers into 1-in. squares. In a large saucepan, precook the pepper squres and mushrooms, covered, in a small amount of boiling water for 2 minutes. Drain.
Drain meat cubes, reserving marinade. On 4 long or 8 short skewers, alternately thread beef cubes, pepper squares, and mushrooms, leaving about 1/4 in. between food.
Grill kabobs on preheated, uncovered grill 6-8 minutes or to desired doneness, turning often and brushing frequently with reserved marinate.
Makes 4 serving.
