Burgers w/ Cranberry-Horseradish Mayo

1/2 Cup mayonnaise
1/4 Cup sour cream
2 Tsp prepared white horseradish, or to taste
3 Tbsp prepared cranberry chutney
1 1/2 Pound ground turkey
1 - large egg
1/2 Cup plain bread crumbs
3 Tbsp prepared cranberry chutney
1 Tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
1 Tsp salt, or to taste
1/2 Tsp freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
6 - hamburger buns, split
- - sliced tomato, for garnish (optional)
- - lettuce leaves, for garnish (optional)
Recipe
In a small bowl combine the mayonnaise, the sour cream, the horseradish and the chutney. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate until needed.
In a large bowl combined the turkey, the egg, the bread crumbs, the chutney, the sage, the salt and the pepper. Mix well. Form into 6 patties. Place patties on a plate, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Spray grill grids with nonstick cooking spray. Heat grill, for direct heat, for a medium-high temperature.
Cook burgers until they register 160 - 170̊ F on an instant read thermometer, about 5 -7 minutes per side. Place buns, cut side down, on the edge of grill during final 2 - 3 minutes of cooking.
Place bottom halves of buns, cut side up, on a serving platter. Place a burger on each bun. Top each burger with some of the cranberry mayonnaise. Cover each burger with bun top, cut side down.
If desired, put a slice of tomato and a leaf of lettuce on each burger before covering with bun top.
Serve immediately.
