    Five Spice Grilled Steak

    1/2 cup soy sauce
    2 tbs. minced fresh ginger
    2 tbs. minced garlic
    1 tbs. vegetable or canola oil
    1 tbs. cider vinegar
    2 tsp. red pepper flakes
    2 tsp. five-spice powder
    2-1/2 pounds top round steak, 1-1/2 inches thick

    Make marinade by combining the soy, ginger, garlic, oil, vinegar, pepper flakes
    and five-spice powder in shallow dish. Add meat to marinade, turning to coat.
    Cover and refrigerate overnight.

    One hour before grilling, remove steak from refrigerator. Heat grill. Grill steak
    over medium heat 12 to 15 minutes per side for medium rare. Let stand 10 minutes.
    Slice very thin across the grain. Makes 10 servings.
