    List of Ingredients




    1 large Cabbage, shreaded
    1/2 pound Bacon
    1 medium Onion, chopped
    1 Cup Vinegar
    1/2 Cup Water
    3 Tablespoon Sugar
    Salt & Pepper to taste

    Recipe



    Place cabbage in large bowl. Set aside. In a large frying pan, fry bacon. Crumble bacon and set aside. Pour off all but 1/2 cup bacon fat. Add onion to fat and saute until tender, about 5 minutes. Add vinegar and water. Add sugar to taste. It should offset the vinegar flavor but not be too sweet. Add salt and pepper to taste and bring to a boil. Pour boiling liquid over cabbage and add bacon. Toss. Cabbage will wilt.
