    Ben & Jerry's Butter Pecan

    (Makes 1 qt.)

    1/2 cup butter
    1 cup pecan halves
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 eggs
    3/4 cup sugar
    2 cups heavy cream
    1 cup 2% milk
    2 teaspoon vanilla

    Melt butter over low heat in a small skillet. Add pecans and salt and saute until browned. Strain pecans, reserving butter.
    Whisk eggs in a mixing bow, 1-2 min., until light and fluffy. Slowly whisk in sugar over 1 min. Pour in cream, milk, reserved butter, and vanilla; whisk to blend. Transfer to the ice cream maker and freeze according to directions. Add pecans about 2 minutes before ice cream is ready (while it's still spoonable)
