Chocolate Custard

2 c milk
1/2 c semisweet chocolate pieces
3 slightly beaten eggs
1/4 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/8 tsp salt
whipped cream
toasted slivered almonds
Recipe
Combine milk and chocolate pieces in saucepan. Stir over low heat until chocolate melts. Cool slightly.
In bowl combine eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt; gradually stir in chocolate mixture.
Pour into six 5 ounce custard cups. Set in a shallow pan. Pour hot water around cups to a depth of 1". Bake 325° 40-45 minutes till knife inserted comes out clean.
Invert custards on serving dishes and garnish with whipped cream and toasted almonds.
