Makes 36 1 ½" squares

¾ cup sugar
¼ pound (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
8 ounces almond paste, at room temperature
3 eggs
1 tablespoon amaretto
½ teaspoon almond extract
¼ cup flour
1/3 teaspoon baking powder

Recipe



1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and grease a 9-inch baking pan

2. In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine sugar, butter and almond paste and cream for 3-4 minutes.

3. Add the eggs, liqueur, and almond extract and beat until smooth.

4. Add the flour and baking powder, beating until just mixed through. Do not overmix.

5. Pour batter into prepared pan, and bake for 30 minutes. Let cool and cut into 1 ½" squares.
