Strawberry-Shiraz Sorbet

2 cups sliced strawberries (see Tip)
½ cup sugar
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 cup Shiraz or other full-bodied, ripe-jammy red wineRecipe
Purée the strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a blender until smooth. Stir in the wine.
Pour the mixture into an ungreased 9-inch by 9-inch baking dish. Cover and freeze for at least 8 hours or until firm.
Before serving, let stand at room temperature for about 5 minutes.
Use a small ice cream scoop to assemble the servings.
Tip: Choose brightly colored strawberries with their hulls attached. Just before using, be sure to rinse strawberries before hulling. Hulled strawberries will absorb water like a sponge.
