Apple-Orange Brownies

6 T butter
1 c brown sugar
1/2 c applesauce
1 tsp shredded orange peel
1 beaten egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp soda
1/2 c chopped walnuts

Recipe



Combine butter and brown sugar in saucepan; cook and stir till melted.
Beat in applesauce, orange peel, egg and vanilla.
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and soda. Stir into mixture in saucepan. Stir in walnuts.
Spread in greased 15x101/2x1'pan.
Bake 350° for 15 minutes.
While warm top with Orange Glaze: Combine 1 1/2 c powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla, dash of salt, and about 2 T orange juice.
