Baked Apple Dumplings

2 C. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 C. butter
1/2 C. milk
6 apples, cored and halved
1/2 C. raisins
2 C. brown sugar
4 T. butter
2 C. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Dash nutmeg
Recipe
Stir together first three ingredients and cut in butter with a pastry blender.
Gradually add milk until dough is dry enough to roll out to 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut into squares.
Place an apple half and sprinkle a few raisins on each square. Then bring corners of the dough to the top of each apple and press to seal edges around apple.
Place squares in shallow baking dish.
Pour over them a syrup made by combining and cooking the brown sugar, butter and water.
Dash top with cinnamon and nutmeg.
Bake in 375*F. oven for 30-35 minutes.
Serve warm with cream.
