    3/4 cup raisins
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup milk
    1 cup enriched flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. butter
    3 cups boiling water
    1 cup brown sugar
    1 Tbs. butter
    1/2 tsp. vanilla

    Recipe



    Soak raisins 5 minutes, drain.
    Combine sugar and milk, add dry ingredients, raisins and tsp. butter.
    Combine remaining ingredients and cook 5 minutes.
    Pour into a greased 8-12 in. baking pan.
    Drop batter from spoon over hot sauce.
    Bake in a moderate oven (350º) 35 to 40 minutes or until it has a nice lightly browned crust.
    Serve warm, but it is still good cold.
    You end up with this lovely pudding in its own sauce. I make it without cooking the brown sugar and water and it is just as good and did not seem to make any difference in thickness etc. It only takes a few minutes to put together and is worth the effort.
