1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup Hershey's cocoa powder
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla or almond extract, or 1 of each
4 eggs
1-1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup chocolate chip morsels
In a large saucepan, melt together the butter, oil, and cocoa powder over low heat to prevent scorching. Remove from heat.
Stir in the sugar and vanilla, blending well. Add eggs, one at a time, then mix in dry ingredients just until blended. Fold in nuts and chocolate chips.
Spread batter evenly into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
