1 stick butter, softened
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup pecan or walnut pieces
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
Mix softened butter with sugar. Add eggs and mix until creamy. Add vanilla and salt. Add flour and mix slowly. Add baking powder. Add baking cocoa and blend until creamy. Add pecans or walnuts.
Pour into an 8 x 12-inch coated baking pan. (Wax paper work best but spray vegetable coating and flour will work to keep from sticking). Bake in preheated 325 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
NOTE: They are best if somewhat gooey in the middle. Remove from pan immediately after taking out of oven. Take wax paper off while still hot. Wait 5 minutes before cutting.
