    1 lb. Mascarpone cheese
    1 26.5 ox jar Nutella
    1/2 cup fresh roasted chopped chestnuts
    1 tsp. Nocello (Italian walnut liqueur)
    1 cup prepared custard sauce (below)
    Chocolate covered chestnuts (for garnish)

    Recipe



    Mix all ingredients in mixer with paddle, or by hand with wooden spoon. Pipe onto pizzelles or into a chocolate cup. garnish with chocolate covered chestnuts and custard.

    Custard Ingredients (cremé anglaisé):
    8 egg yolks
    1 qt heavy cream
    1 cup granulated sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla

    Heat heavy cream on low heat in heavy gauge pan or double boiler. In a bowl, lightly mix egg yolks with sugar and vanilla. Before cream is to a simmer, temper it into the yolk mixture 1/4 cup at a time while whisking gently to incorporate but not to froth.

    Once 3/4 of the cream is mixed into yolks, pour it all to join remaining back into pot and stir until it thickens, but not boiling. Strain into a container you can submerge into an ice bath to cool mixture quickly. After it has cooled store refrigerated until needed. Be sure not to scorch, and check for sweetness.

    you can mix a number of cordials to heighten flavor after it is cool.
