2 c Granulated sugar
1/8 ts Cream of tartar
1 c Hot water
1/2 ts Vanilla
About 1 1/2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
Cook granulated sugar, cream of tartar, and hot water to thin syrup (226 degrees F). Cool to lukewarm (110 degrees).
