1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 Quart milk
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 tsp. vanilla (or rum extract)
Recipe
In a saucepan blend sugar, eggs and cornstarch, slowly adding milk while stirring constantly over medium heat, Stir until just boiling.
Remove from heat, add 1 tablespoon of melted butter and vanilla or rum extract. Blend well.
Tip: When using for layer cakes, use custard on warm cake. This way the custard spreads easy
