Lou Pember Spaghetti Sauce w/Meatballs

List of Ingredients
Sauce:
1/4 cup olive oil
1 clove garlic, sliced
1 20-oz. can whole tomatoes
1 15-oz. can tomato puree
2 15-oz. cans tomato sauce
1 12-oz. can tomato paste
1 15-oz. can water
2 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. red pepper flakes
1 tsp. basil
1 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. celery seed
Meatballs:
4 slices bread
2 eggs
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 Tbs. snipped parsley
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. dried oregano
2 Tbs. vegetable oil
Recipe
Sauce:
Heat olive oil in a crock pot. Add garlic and sauté 1 minute. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for hours.
Meatballs:
Soak bread in 1/2 cup water for 2 to 3 minutes. Add eggs, mixing well. Stir in cheese and seasonings. Add meat. Form into 24 small balls.
Brown slowly in vegetable oil, or cook in a glass pie plate in the microwave.
Add to sauce 30 minutes before serving.
