Poke holes in brats with hat pin & place in heavy pan.
Cover with beer-outdated O.K.
Bring to a boil & boil for 5 to 10 minutes.
Transfer (save liquid in pan & keep warm) brats to charcoal grill & grill, turning frequently , until browned well on all sides.
Return brats to pan with beer, can keep pan on grill until other food is ready or eat right away. (save liquid in pan)
These can be made ahead & warmed at dinner time. I put 2 or 4 in a Ziploc bag with juice, squeeze out air, seal & freeze. When I need a brat-fix, I just remove from freezer & reheat. I like Hillshire Farm brats the best.
