2 ham steaks, 1/2" thick
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1 1/2 teaspoons coarse ground pepper
1/4 cup Chardonnay wine
Recipe
In a large non-stick skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Place ham steaks in pan and sprinkle with half the garlic and pepper. Fry until first side is browned, turn, and fry the garlic side. Sprinkle remaining garlic and pepper on first side. Flip one more time until nice and brown. Pour wine in pan and cook just a couple of minutes until reduced.
Note: For more servings, transfer cooked ham steaks to a roasting pan and keep warm in the oven while frying more.
Serving suggestion: Serve ham on top of a bed of steamed spinach with a side of roasted potatoes or applesauce.
