    1 cup of chopped onion
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 cup of salad oil
    * *
    1 cup of water
    3/4 cup of catsup
    1/3 cup of lemon juice
    3 tablespoons of sugar
    2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
    1 tablespoon of prepared mustard
    2 teaspoons of salt
    1/4 teaspoon of bottled hot pepper sauce
    6 rib or loin chops, cut 1 to 1 1/4 inches thick

    For the sauce: Cook the onion and garlic in hot oil until tender, but not brown. Add the remaining ingredients except the chops, simmer uncovered for 15 minutes. Set aside. Lock the chops in a split basket. Rotate over slow coals 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the pork is done. Baste with the sauce during the last 20 minutes of cooking.
