    2/3 cups flour
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    3/4 cup sugar
    1 cup dates (cut up some)
    1 cup English walnuts (broken)
    2 egg whites beaten separately

    Mix all ingredients together and add egg whites. Bake in moderate oven and cut into squares while hot.
