    Buttery Swiss Cheese Canapés

    16 ounces Swiss cheese, shredded
    1 Cup butter, softened
    1/4 Cup chopped green onions
    2 Tablespoons prepared mustard
    2 Tablespoons poppy seeds
    1 (16-ounce) loaf French or Italian bread, cut into 32 slices

    Preheat the oven to 350°F. Combine the cheese, butter, green onions, mustard and poppy seeds in a medium mixing bowl and mix well. Spread some of the cheese mixture on each of the bread slices. Arrange the slices in a single layer on an 11xl7-inch baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes or until bubbly.
    Yield: 32 servings

    May chill the cheese mixture and serve with assorted party crackers.
