    1 cup vegetable shortening
    2 Tbs. milk
    6 Tbs. boiling water
    about 2 1/2 cups flour
    1 tsp salt

    Recipe



    Break up shortening with a fork in bowl and add milk and hot water and beat smooth to soft peaks until like whipped cream. Combine flour and salt. Add about 1/2 cup at a time mixing into creamed mixture until dough comes dtogether again being neither sticky or too dry. Divide finished dough into 2 balls. Flatten each and sprinkle lightly with flour. Roll each piece out between sheets of waxed paper to an 11 inch circle. Remove top of wax paper and place dough bottom side up into 9 inch pie pan. Remove second piece of wax paper. Mend or smooth any tears. Repeat with 2nd half for top crust. ( or use for another single crust recipe ) For a prebaked crust , bake in a 450F until lightly browned about 12 to 15 minutes. Or fill and bake as directed for double crust recipe.
