2 cups Flour
1/2 teaspoon Salt
2/3 cup Shortening
5-6 tablespoons Water, cold
2 tablespoons Butter or margarine, melted
4 teaspoons Sugar, granulated Recipe
Be sure all ingredients and tools are COLD!
1. Combine flour and salt; cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarsecrumbs.
2. Gradually add water, tossing with fork until a ball forms.
3. On a floured surface, roll pastry into rectangle. Place over filling, cut slits in top. Brush with melted butter and sprinklewith sugar.
