Pennsylvannia Mushroom Swiss Burger
Melt a generous slice of Swiss cheese on top of a cooked patty; top with sautéed onions and chanterelle and crimini mushrooms. Serve open-faced with a knife and fork. Top with Dijon mustard, salt and pepper. Pour a frosty boutique-style beer. Serve ice cream for dessert.
Virginia Aristocrat Burger
Melt pepper-jack cheese on top of a grilled patty. Spread seeded buns with mayonnaise and sprinkle with crushed black pepper. Garnish with crisp bacon, black olive slices, avocado slices and broccoli sprouts. Serve with a pasta salad and white sangria made with peaches, oranges and limes.
Tennessee Smokey Mountain BBQ Burger
Brush meat with BBQ sauce while cooking. Spread extra sauce on burger the last time you turn it over. Serve on a toasted sourdough bun with red onion and dill pickle slices. Accompany with cole slaw and cold beer.
North Carolina Turkey Burger
Serve a grilled turkey burger on a seeded bun. Dress with grainy mustard and mayonnaise. A fruit salad with poppy seed dressing and glass of iced tea complete the meal.
New Jersey Burger With Beefsteak Tomato
Serve grilled burger with tomato slices and mayonnaise on a seeded bun. Accompany with grilled onions, eggplant and zucchini. Serve with sparkling water.
Georgia Veggie Burger
Combine chopped eggplant, onions, bell pepper and mushrooms with 2 T. flour and 1 egg Shape into a patty. Grill and top with melted Mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, and Creamy Italian dressing. Serve with a fruity white wine.
Connecticut Lassen Burger
Cook patties on a griddle and sandwich between slices of toasted bread. Top with spreadable cheese. Serve with lemonade.
