French Onion Sandwich

2 tblsp. butter
4 beef cubed steaks, 4 oz. ea., round or sirloin
1 medium onion, sliced rings
1 cup beef broth
1 tblsp. cornstarch
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
4 one-inch slices French bread toast
2 one-oz. slices Swiss cheese, halved
In a large skillet melt butter. Add steaks and cook over medium-highheat for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until done. Remove from skillet.Reserve drippings. Cook onions in drippings until tender. Combinebroth, cornstarch, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and a dash of pepper.Add to skillet. Cook and stir until bubbly. Cook andstir 2 minutes more. Place steak on bread. Top with cheeseand onion mixture. Serves 2 as a meal or 4 with other foods. Recipe
