1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
3 tablespoons garlic-and-herb cheese
1 tablespoon finely minced shallots
1 clove garlic, finely minced
Salt and pepper
4 drops hot pepper sauce
1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
2 tablespoons red wine
2 tablespoons freshly grate Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon finely grated lime zest
12 slices Italian bread or French bread, grilled
Recipe
In medium bowl, combine ground beef, garlic-and-herb cheese, shallots, garlic, salt and pepper to taste, hot pepper sauce, Italian herbs and red wine. Gently mix and form into patties. Fry until done.
Combine Parmesan cheese and lime zest. Sprinkle over patties just before removing from pan. Serve on Italian bread.
Serving quantity: Makes 6.
