    2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
    1 green pepper, seeds and pith removed, and thinly sliced
    1/2 white onion, thinly sliced
    salt & black pepper
    1 17-ounce package Hormel Roast Beef Au Jus, cooked according to packaged directions, juices drained, fat skimmed, and juices reserved, (or use leftover roast beef)
    2 French rolls, split and warmed
    1 cup melted Cheese Whiz, kept warm
    condiments: ketchup, horseradish, reserved beef juice

    Recipe



    Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and pepper and sauté until soft, about 5 to 7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, remove from the skillet and set aside.

    Shred the cooked beef. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet and raise the heat to medium-high. Add the shredded beef and cook, stirring often, until the meat has a nice golden crust.

    Pile the beef and the cooked pepper and onion onto the warmed French rolls and top with the melted Cheese Whiz. Serve with any of the condiments listed above. Makes 2 sandwiches.
