    1/4 cup white vinegar
    1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    1 garlic clove - crushed
    1 teaspoon fresh minced parsley
    1/2 teaspoon basil
    3/4 cup vegetable oil
    1/4 cup olive oil


    Combine vinegar, mustard, salt, pepper, garlic,
    parsley, basil and egg yolk. Whisk to blend.

    Add oil very slowly, whisking to blend. Do not beat
    too hard or mixture will become as thick as mayonnaise.
    Refrigerate.

    Whisk before serving.
    Can be made with red wine vinegar.
