    Comments:

    The Traditional Way....
    From: Robin in Md
I just wanted to comment on the Ham Glazes. They all look delicious..they truly do, but what ever happened to the traditional way. I just wanted to share with everyone....my families way of baking a ham. My family has been doing hams this way for at least the last 4 generations......and you should hear the rave reveiws I get on my ham!! The crazy thing is.....it's the EASIEST way to do it. So just in case none of you have heard of preparing your ham this way.....just thought I'd share.

Trim most of the fat and outer shell from your ham (the traditional hams....not the easy carve...are atually better.....they absourb the flavor better). Rub the entire outside of the ham with prepared mustard. Then pack brown sugar around the outside of the ham till covered. The take pineapple slices and afix them to the outside of the ham using whole cloves. (it's ok to use tooth picks to help make them stay if you have trouble). Then bake as directed (usually a 325 oven for approximatally 2 hours).

Well..there you have it. Trust me...if you bake one ham like this......I seriously doubt you will ever try the 'fancy' glazes again. Good Luck
