    Fill the bottom of a double boiler half full with water and bring to boiling. Combine four 1-oz. squares unsweetened chocolate, ½ cup butter, and ½ tsp. salt in the top of the double boiler. Place over the boiling water and stir until melted. Add 3 cups sugar, ½ cup at a time, stirring well after each addition. Gradually add one 12-oz. can evaporated milk, continuing to stir until well mixed. Serve warm over ice cream. Makes 4 cups.
