Pungent Bbq Sauce

List of Ingredients
1 cup olive oil
1 tbs basil
6 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tbs chili powder
1 cup minced onion
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1 cup minced green pepper
1 cup red wine
1 cup peeled and chopped tomatoes
1 cup beef stock
2 stk celery minced
1 cup tomato puree
2 tbs red wine vinegar
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp pepper
Recipe
Saute the garlic in the oil until browned and almost crisp. Add the onions and cook until tender but not browned. Add green pepper, tomatoes, celery, basil, chili powder, stock and vinegar. Cover and simmer for 40 minutes then run the mixture through a blender or food processor. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for at least 10 minutes, the longer this sauce simmers the better it it makes it.
TO SERVE: This sauce can be used either hot or cold for basting or served on the table.
