2 lbs ground round
1 lg onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 jalapeno with seeds, chopped
1 clove garlic minced ( I usually add a little more.)
1 large can tomatoes, drained ( I don't drain my tomatoes.)
several dashes of hot sauce, to your taste
1 can hot chili beans, optional ( I like using Bush's Chili Beans)
1 (12 oz) can of beer
4 oz beef broth
2-3 TBS chili powder
1 TBS paprika
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
Recipe
Brown meat, drain, set aside. Saute vegetables in the pot that you browned the meat in. Add spices while vegetables are sauteing. Cook for about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
To the pot of vegetables, add meat, tomatoes, hot sauce, broth, and beer. Simmer covered for 1 hour, and then uncovered for another hour or so.
