    (1st Round)
    3 pounds coarse ground beef
    3 tablespoons vegetable oil
    1 can beef broth
    1 can chicken broth
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 tablespoon granulated onion
    1/2 teaspoon onion powder
    2 tablespoons granulated garlic powder
    1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    1/4 teaspoon white pepper
    2 teaspoons beef bouillon
    1 teaspoon chicken bouillon
    6 tablespoons chili powder
    1/2 teaspoon red pepper
    1 tablespoon ground cumin
    1 teaspoon jalapeno powder (if available)
    1 can (15 ounces) Hormel chili, no beans

    (2nd Round)
    2 tablespoons chili powder
    1 teaspoon ground cumin
    1/4 teaspoon red pepper
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon MSG
    1/4 cup masa
    3/4 cup water

    Recipe



    Brown meat in vegetable oil and drain.

    Add tomato sauce and enough broth to cover meat and bring to a boil. Add the remainder of the first round of ingredients and simmer 45 minutes.

    Add second round of ingredients and simmer 15 minutes.

    Use masa and water mixture added to chili near the end to achieve desired thickness. Serve with diced onions and grated cheddar cheese on the side.

    Equipment needed: 1 large skillet, 1 stock pot, 1 slotted spoon, 1 soup ladle, and 1 colander
