Layered Lettuce Salad

List of Ingredients
1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
1/4 c. red onion, chopped
1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
1/2 c. ripe olives, sliced
1/2 c. celery, chopped
2 c. mayonnaise
4 oz. grated Parmesan cheese
1 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled
Recipe
Must do ahead. Cooking time: 1/2 hour. Serves 8 to 10.
Layer ingredients in order: lettuce, onion, green pepper, olives, celery, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese and bacon. Be sure to spread mayonnaise to sides with a spatula to seal. Cover with plastic wrap. Let set overnight or at least 12 hours. Can be tossed before serving or left in layers.
Variation: Substitute the following for the green peppers and olives: 10 ounce package tiny frozen peas and 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled.
