    Green Beans With Parmesan Topping

    1 can sliced water chestnuts drained
    1/2 cup of butter
    2 tsp. lemon juice
    3/4 tsp. dried basil, crushed
    2 cans cut green beans

    Topping:
    2 Tbsp. butter melted
    3/4 cup soft bread cubed
    1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

    Heat beans and water chestnuts until heated through. Drain juice out of beans and add the butter, lemon juice, and basil. Keep warm over low heat. Add bread cubes and parmesan cheese to melted butter in a skillet. Stir until golden brown and crispy. Serve seperately as a topping for the green beans. Do not stir into beans or they will become soggy.

    This recipe is an excellent change of pace for side dishes. I have to have it every Thanksgiving no matter what. I am sure that you will find this dish very tasty. Enjoy
