    List of Ingredients




    1 tsp vegetable oil
    3/4 lb Italian style turkey sausage, casings removed
    2 onions, chopped
    1 turnip, peeled and chopped
    1/2 carrot, sliced
    1 celery stalk, sliced
    4 new red potatoes, scrubbed and quartered
    1 cup chicken broth
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp dried thyme
    1/4 tsp dried sage
    1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
    1/2 small head green cabbage, cut into 4 wedges
    1 tsp all purpose flour, dissolved in 1 tbsp cold water
    1/4 cup minced parsley
    2 tsp cider vinegar

    Recipe



    Heat the oil in a nonstick saucepan, then add the sausage, onions, turnip, carrot, and celery. Cook, breaking apart the sausage with a spoon, until the sausage is browned. Stir in the potatoes, broth, bay leaf, thyme, sage and pepper, bring to a boil. Place the cabbage over the stew, then reduce the heat, cover and simmer until the potatoes and cabbage are tender, about 15 minutes.. With a slotted spoon, transfer cabbage to a serving bowl.

    Stir the dissolved flour into the stew, simmer, stirring frequently, until the liquid thickens slightly. With slotted spoon, transfer sausage and vegetables to serving bowl, discard bay leaf. Stir the parsley and vinegar into the liquid, pour over the sausage and vegetables.
