    List of Ingredients

    Honey Spiced BBQ Sauce

    1 1/4 Cup Catchup
    2/3 Cup Salad oil
    3/4 Cup Vinegar
    5 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    1 Cup Honey
    2 Tablespoon Dry mustard
    3 Teaspoon Ginger, fresh grated
    1 Lemon, sliced thinly
    3 Tablespoons Butter

    Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and heat to blend together. Remove lemon peel before basting.




    Basic BBQ sauce

    Servings: 1

    Ingredients:
    1/2 c Vinegar
    1 c Ketchup
    1/2 c Onion; chopped
    1 ts Cayenne
    2 tb Liquid barbecue smoke®
    1/4 c Brown sugar
    2 ts Dry mustard
    2 tb Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 c Butter
    Salt; to taste

    Instructions:
    Combine in saucepan and simmer slowly for 30 min. to blend flavors. Brush on any meat orchicken as it grills and serve with cooked meat as well Makes two cups.


    Honey BBQ Sauce

    Servings: 1

    Ingredients:
    1 tb Vegetable oil
    1/2 c Onion; minced
    1 Cl Garlic; minced
    1 8 oz tomato sauce
    1/2 c Honey
    2 tb Cider or sherry wine vinegar
    2 tb Fresh parsley; minced
    1 tb Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 ts Pepper
    1/8 ts Cayenne

    Instructions:
    Heat oil in medium skillet. Add onion and garlic and saute on medium ~ high heat until onion is transparent. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 5 min. Remove from heat. Makes 1 cup.


    Hot Georgia BBQ Sauce

    Servings: 6

    Ingredients:
    1/2 c Lemon juice
    1/4 c Ketchup
    1 tb Brown sugar
    1 ts Dry mustard
    1/2 ts Pepper
    1/2 ts Onion powder
    1 ts Tabasco sauce
    1/3 c Vinegar
    1/4 c Water
    1 ts Salt
    1 ts Paprika
    1/2 ts Cayenne
    1/8 ts Garlic powder
    2 tb Butter

    Instructions:
    Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Heat to boiling point. Use for BBQing chicken, pork, veal, beef or lamb.

    CAROLINA-STYLE BARBECUE SAUCE

    Makes 2 cups

    1 cup distilled white vinegar
    1 cup cider vinegar
    1 tablespoon sugar
    1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
    1 tablespoon hot red pepper flakes
    Salt and ground pepper to taste

    Mix all ingredients, including salt and pepper, to taste, in medium bowl.


    MID-SOUTH CAROLINA MUSTARD SAUCE
    Makes 2-1/2 cups
    1 cup cider vinegar
    6 tablespoons Dijon mustard
    2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
    4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
    1 teaspoon hot red pepper sauce
    1 cup vegetable oil
    2 teaspoon salt
    Ground black pepper

    Mix all ingredients, including pepper to taste, in medium bowl.

    WESTERN SOUTH CAROLINA-STYLE BARBECUE SAUCE
    Makes 2 cups
    1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    1/2 medium onion, minced
    2 medium garlic cloves, minced
    1/2 cup cider vinegar
    1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
    1 tablespoon dry mustard
    1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
    1 tablespoon paprika
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    1 cup ketchup
    Heat oil in 2-quart saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; saute until softened, 4-5 minutes. Stir in all the remaining ingredients except ketchup; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, then add ketchup.
    Cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 15 minutes.


    Eastern North Carolina-Style Barbeque Sauce
    Yield: 2 servings
    1 c White vinegar
    1 c Cider vinegar
    1 tb Sugar
    1 tb Crushed red pepper flakes
    1 tb Tabasco sauce
    Salt - to taste
    Freshly cracked black pepper
    To taste

    Eastern North Carolina BBQ Sauce w/Molasses
    1 gallon cider vinegar
    1/2 cup salt
    2 tablespoons red pepper
    3 tablespoons red pepper flakes
    1/2 cup molasses
    Mix ingredients well.

    Lexington NC BBQ Sauce via Yadkin County, NC
    1 1/2 cups cider vinegar
    1/2 cup water
    1/2 cup ketchup
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 onion -- chopped
    2 tablespoons brown sugar
    1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
    1/8 teaspoon red pepper
    Preparation:
    Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and boil slowly for 15 minutes.

    N.C. Vinegar BBQ Sauce
    1 cup vinegar
    4 tablespoons ketchup
    1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
    1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
    1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
    1 teaspoon celery seed
    Mix all ingredients. Let sit,covered, overnight. Serve with barbecued pork shoulder.

    (Or oven-roasted leg of pork, pulled.)
