    Gyro Style Burgers

    Source of Recipe

    Wegman's

    List of Ingredients

1/4 small (about 1/4 lb) red onion, peeled, finely chopped (about 1/3 cup)
1 small (about 1/4 lb) cucumber, peeled, halved, seeded, sliced ¼ inch thick
    1/4 cup plain yogurt
1 lb 90% Fresh Ground Beef, shaped in 3 patties
    3 Tbsp Wegmans Basting Oil
2 oz Greek Barrel Aged Feta cheese, crumbled (about 1/4 cup) (Cheese Shop)
1/2 pkg (2.5 oz) Food You Feel Good About Spring Mix (about 3 cups)
1 medium (about 1/2 lb) tomato, sliced
3 Kontos Onion Nan Pita or Italian Herb Flatout Bread (Bakery), warmed over grill

    Recipe

Preheat grill on HIGH for 10 min.

Combine onion and cucumber in medium bowl; season with salt and pepper. Toss with yogurt.
Clean grill with wire brush; using soft cloth, coat lightly with vegetable oil.
Season burgers with salt and pepper; drizzle both sides with basting oil (too much oil will cause flare-ups on the grill).
Sear burgers on grill until color changes one-quarter of the way up from bottom, 2 - 3 min. Turn; sear 2 - 3 min longer. Brush seared meat with basting oil.
Turn and brush again with basting oil. Reduce heat to MEDIUM; close lid.
Cook to 160 degrees, 6 - 8 min. Check by inserting digital thermometer halfway into thickest part of burger. Remove from grill and let stand 5 min before serving. Top with feta cheese.
Divide spring mix evenly on 3 plates. Top with burgers and cucumber mixture. Garnish with sliced tomatoes and serve with warm pita.
